"By a Thread" is the debut album of Los Angeles based comedian, Emily Maya Mills. A long-time straddler of sketch and stand-up, she's been featured at SXSW, The Eugene Mirman Comedy Fest, Sundance, on Key & Peele, Comedy Bang! Bang!, The Birthday Boys, The UCB Show, Orange is the New Black, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and even in a tear-drenched turn on Harry's Law opposite Kathy Bates (for which she did not win an Emmy). Her UCBTLA solo show, God Hates Figs, earned her a review by the LA Weekly entitled, "Could Emily Maya Mills be the Next Carol Burnette?" The answer is no and the question is blasphemous, though flattering enough to fuel delusions of grandeur for years to come. Emily was born and raised in San Francisco and has a PhD in parallel parking.
