James Hamilton is a stand-up comedian and— here's the twist— a writer based in Brooklyn, NY. He was a writer, voiceover performer, and occasional on-screen talent for VICE News Tonight, and in 2020, was part of the team that won an Emmy for "Outstanding Newscast." He was also a co-writer for the feature-length documentary, The Neutral Ground (Tribeca Film Festival, POV on PBS, 2021), which was directed by CJ Hunt and executive produced by Roy Wood Jr. James' writing has been part of productions respectively nominated for a Peabody Award, a GLAAD Award, a James Beard Award for Media, a finalist for a dupont-Columbia Award, and that lost a Critics Choice Award to Val Kilmer, which...fair.
James has performed around the country as a stand-up comedian and storyteller. He is a co-host of the monthly stand-up show in Brooklyn, Good Delivery. He's been featured on The Moth Radio Hour and in 2018, won The Moth NYC GrandSlam Championship. James grew up in Colorado and got his comedy start in New Orleans. He was a member of the sketch comedy group, Stupid Time Machine, which performed at many of North America's top comedy festivals, including San Francisco SketchFest, Toronto SketchFest, and Austin's Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival.
James' primary interests have been basketball, books, and cats since he was six years old and he has no plans of branching out anytime soon.
